Dr. Melissa Becker was raised in middle Georgia. Here, she first became interested in veterinary medicine, while raising dairy cattle as part of her high school’s FFA program. After high school she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and her Master’s in Public Health at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA.
Melissa attended her first three years of veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies and transferred to the University of Georgia for her clinical training. She is passionate about educating the public on proper animal care and husbandry. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Dave and her dog, Ada, and her cat, Thunder Bear. She also enjoys hiking and being outdoors.
